In 1848 the very first Royal Command Performance was staged at Windsor Castle by order of Queen Victoria. From then until the present day a galaxy of stars have entertained the Royal Family at the castle: Gilbert and Sullivan, Henry Irving, Noël Coward, Joyce Grenfell, Derek Jacobi, Michael Ball and many more. By Royal Command is a wonderfully light-hearted and sophisticated words-and-music entertainment which celebrates those Windsor Castle shows featuring actors, musicians and singers from the most successful musicals, revues and operettas in the West End and on Broadway.​
